Spain to launch first Living Library in September.
The list of countries that have introduced the Living Library concept the last eight years is growing faster and faster. In April the United Kingdom launched its first events and now its time for Spain to join the experience.
New country and new organiser.
In the city of Lorca in Spain, the CAZALLA-Intercultural organisation is preparing Spains first BIBLIOTECA VIVENTE. The new organiser has great expectations for the event that is scheduled to take place on September 18th at the beautiful Biblioteca Municipal Pilar Barnes de Lorca (public library in Lorca).
Popular stereotypes on the bookshelf.
The organisers have prepared an interesting variety of books for the launch event. Some are popular and almost to be considered bestsellers in the Living Library and other titles clearly reflects unpopular local perceptions. Among the titles available are the Muslim, Politician, Police Officer, Gay, Refugee, African, Bolivian, Ecuadorian, and the Buddist.
Visitors (Readers) are welcome to challenge their preconceptions between 6-9 pm and as always the Living Library is free.
